A LITTLE INFORMATION ON OUR PUPPIES
Our puppies are whelped in our home for close monitoring and continue there until approximately 4 weeks of age and then will be moved to our climate controlled garage for a larger play area. Weather permitting, they will have outdoor play time in protected enclosed areas. This will allow the puppies to also build up an immunity to the outside world and to learn about different smells all around them as well as learning to explore in a safe environment. They will still have one on one socialization each and every day by our family which also includes our 11 year old daughter, 8 year old son, 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son. Puppies will be introduced to wings, live pigeons (ONLY if available) and water (weather permitting) prior to leaving and will have had their dewclaws removed (except for particular situations on certain pups), been through a worming program and will be up to date on their CORE vaccinations. We will also conduct "EARLY NEUROLOGICAL STIMULATION" from 3-16 days old. We continue to monitor our puppies on going as they progress. We start the weaning process at 3-4 weeks of age, they will be fully off Momma by 6 weeks old and they are introduced to the crate starting between 5-6 weeks old as a group, not individually. They will see their first adventure outside at 4-5 weeks old (weather permitting) but will only be able to go in limited areas for their safety.
Puppies are released at 8 weeks old to their new homes and for shipping they are required to be 8 weeks of age minimum. Approximately a week before the pickup day, you will be notified by phone/email of a time to pick up your pup. Puppies not picked up within 7 days of the pick up date will incur in a boarding charge of $10.00 per day unless other arrangements have been made. We feel the time at 8 weeks of age is a critical bonding time for the puppy with their new family and advise you to pick up your puppy on time.
Shipping available in the US at buyer's expense.

PUPPY PAYMENT
DEPOSIT
We will require a non-refundable deposit that is different depending on each litter to hold your pick. When placing a deposit we ask that you specify the sex/color of the puppy you are interested in. First deposit placed gets first pick, second deposit gets second pick and so on. Working homes can be of higher priority since temperament needs to fit the job being asked.
All deposits are non-refundable. We ask that the balance be paid before puppy is to leave Sagecreek Kennels at 8 weeks of age.
We like to keep our puppies quiet for the first few weeks, so we do not allow for them to have visitors until they reach 5 weeks of age. We hope that you respect this as it is in the best interest of both the puppies, their dam as well as their health. I will schedule an appointment after the puppies are 5 weeks old, so families can choose their puppy. Appointments will be made in the order of pick selection.
Pick of your puppy MUST be made once the litter turns 6 weeks old and prior to 7 weeks of age. Sagecreek Kennels reserves the right to ALWAYS have ANY picks of the litter if we are planning on keeping one or a few. We sometimes will do this to keep and sell later as a started pup/dog to help us to see the trainability of said pup from out of said breeding pair.
If you feel you will be unavailable during the time that puppy picks need to be made, I will do my best to accommodate in helping your decision via video and pictures and with the knowledge of what I know you are looking for and which possible pups may be best suited for your family.
Sagecreek Kennels has the right to refuse service to ANYONE if we personally feel you may not meet the qualifications we feel are necessary to owning a Sagecreek puppy!
If for any reason you feel that you have changed your decision after your deposit, or have chosen to purchase a puppy elsewhere after giving your deposit and after pups have already been born, your deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE!
If you have placed a deposit before pups are born and if your choice of sex/color preference is not available after pups are whelped, you can transfer your deposit to a different litter or your deposit will be refunded back to you.

~~**SHIPPING**~~
(ATTENTION: Due to increase of Health Certificate cost and using a larger crate to ship our pups in comfort on United Airlines, Shipping Fee will be increased to $375 on JULY 1st of 2018!)
We are happy to ship our puppies within the United States via air (we prefer for pup to ride as a carry on with buyer or shipper) or as cargo and we use United Airlines which has a Pet Safe Program. Shipping prices for eight week old puppies in the continental U.S. to your nearest major airport, we are currently charging $400.00. Included in the shipping price is the airline ticket (which averages around $321 after tax), an airline approved crate (food and water containers if cargo, we use crate size 200), collar and leash, transportation to the airport and vet check with a written health certificate. If you prefer to use a ground shipper, please let us know if you have anyone in mind and that they are reputable or we can try and locate one for you.
We truly enjoy Chuck with Gun Dog Express and he charges a flat rate of $350 but does not go to the west coast. We also use Terry with Great Lakes Shipping and his fee is $250 for puppies/$280 for adults, but he does not do the West Coast. You will still need to pay additional $20 for their Health Certificate to ship.
If we are shipping via ground ourselves, then the delivery fee will be $250, however please check with us first to see if we have a route planned at the time the pups are coming on 7-8 weeks of age.
Shipping cost of older puppies and adult dogs will vary depending on size of crate needed and weight of the dog. If shipping one of our precious pups via cargo, we prefer to use United Airlines and ship out of DFW. We will make all the shipping arrangements for you and can ship to most major cities.

(We apologize as we are attempting to moving in a new home/property that will allow us to take in client dogs, so at this time we are delaying our training for outside dogs until further notice)

**PUPPY HEAD START PROGRAM**
Puppy Head Start is for pups 12 weeks to six months of age and for maximum training we will only accept up to 3 pups per training period. It is an introduction to the skills your dog will need to be ready for more advanced Gun Dog or Obedience training. We have found that people often don't know what to emphasize in their early training and many puppies are poorly started. For the HUNTER, Head Start will help you and your pup develop into a successful hunting and retrieving team. For the NON HUNTER, the focus of training will be obedience and the development of an enjoyable family companion.
The cost for the six week training program is $600. Dogs stay at the kennel during their training and are housed in individual runs. We are not here to "house" train a puppy or dog. We will only accept medium to large breeds.
The puppies are started on basic obedience commands - to walk at heel, and sit on a leash, crate training. We will work on basic obedience cues (sit, down, leave it, off), and we will socialize your puppy with other puppies and older dogs. We will also work on other puppy behaviors like puppy mouthing and jumping. They will be worked on retrieving on both land and in water. For many pups, this is their first introduction to water and swimming. The HUNTING head start puppies will also be introduced to retrieving birds and be accustomed to the gun shot. Puppies in our Head Start Program also explore different surfaces, tunnels, toys and equipment just for puppies designed to build confidence and optimize socialization during the critical Socialization Period. We also use skilled handling focusing on muzzle, paw, and tail handling in a gentle positive manner.
A couple questions you may have:
Will training change my dog's personality?
Training changes your dog's behavior, but not their personality. Training helps organize your dog's thought processes so that he/she can be more self controlled and respond to commands.
Will training correct my dog's undesirable habits such as digging, destructive chewing or nuisance barking?
Training teaches the dog to respond to commands when you are present. It does not teach the dog to behave in a certain manner when you are absent. Digging and chewing are best addressed by confining your dog in a crate or dog run when you are unable to supervise him. Nuisance barking is best controlled with an electronic bark collar which picks up the vibration of the dog's vocal cords when he barks. The intensity of the bark collar can be adjusted to a suitable level for the dog.
